Assemblies
At Whittlesea Primary School, our students, staff, and the wider community come together at different times throughout the year to celebrate student learning, achievements, and special occasions.
Term Assemblies
Twice each term, our School Captains host a whole-school assembly, and parents and carers are warmly invited to attend. In Terms 1 and 4, assemblies are held on the upper basketball court. During Terms 2 and 3, we hold smaller assemblies in the school gym for F–2 and Years 3–6 students.
These assemblies are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate student learning, recent events, and sporting achievements. During this time, we also present our Learning Legends Awards to one student from each class in recognition of academic excellence.
Please visit our calendar to find when and where our assemblies are held.
Special Event Assemblies
Throughout the year, we celebrate several special events and encourage students and staff to dress in theme. In Term 3, we celebrate Book Week. This year’s theme is ‘Symphony of Stories’.
We celebrate the last day of Term 3 with Footy Day. Students and staff are invited to wear their favourite team colours from whichever code they support. Our annual Christmas Assembly is a special opportunity to mark the end of the year. Students and staff dress in festive attire and perform carols for their peers and families. During this assembly, we also announce the student leaders for the upcoming year.
