School Council plays an important role at Whittlesea Primary School.
Participating as a school council member is a very rewarding and positive experience. The school council supports the Principal to provide the best possible educational and wellbeing outcomes for the Whittlesea Primary School students and community.
All school councils in Victoria operate under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006. Each school council is established by an Order of the Minister for Education, which specifies the council’s membership, size and configuration, its objectives, powers, functions, and accountabilities, and the role of its executive officer who is the Principal.

Whittlesea Primary School Council meetings are held twice a term, typically on Tuesday evenings at 6.30 pm.
School Council minutes are distributed to members after all meetings. Minutes are also available upon request. Hard copies of all School documentation are also available for viewing at the school office.
Whilst elections for School Councillors are conducted each year in February/March if you would like to get involved, all parents are welcome to assist without being a School Council member. This may include school events such as supporting a working bee, fundraising, gardening, or parent volunteering.
